Heather a Tennessee native, go VOLS!  Heather is a License Manager in the Shared Services Center in Oracle San Antonio.  She has more than 12 years of contracting experience encompassing federal contracts, non-profit, and for profit commercial markets.  Prior to Oracle, Heather served eight years active duty in the Air Force prior to working as a Sr. Subcontracts Specialist at Southwest Research Institute and then moving to Oracle America Inc.  Heather is a member or OWL (Oracle Women Leaders) who is a coalition partner of YWTF.  Heather is passionate about access to education for girls and women.

Laura Villarreal, Director of Marketing & Social Media

Laura Villarreal is a fund development and communications professional in San Antonio, TX. She is a proud alumna of the University of Texas at San Antonio where she received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in communication. Her work includes fund development, special event, communications, and marketing for the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber, Girls Incorporated of San Antonio, and the Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas. During her time with Girls Inc. and the Children’s Bereavement Center, the San Antonio Business Journal highlighted both organizations as the “Nonprofit of the Year” during their competitive Corporate Philanthropy & Nonprofit Awards. Villarreal has been able to work with local news and print media to showcase the organizations she has worked with, but takes the most pride in being able to have coordinated efforts with Girls Inc.’s segment on NBC’s TODAY Show and NBCUniversal’s The More You Know.

When she is not busy at work, she serves in leadership roles with local affiliates of the Young Nonprofit Professionals and AAUW’s Younger Women’s Task Force. She is also active in the local chapters of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and Young Catholic Professionals. She is passionate about supporting youth development and promoting women’s rights across South Texas, especially in San Antonio and in her hometown of San Benito.

Shenée Simon, Founding Member & Director

Shenée is a Virginia native with an emerging presence in the San Antonio community with over fifteen years of experience in for-profit and not-for-profit sectors specializing in Human Resources, Education and Non-Profit Management.  She established the Younger Woman’s Task Force (YWTF) San Antonio in 2015 after having a positive experience with YWTF Miami, in Miami, FL . She has been an AAUW member since 2013. She also serves on AAUW Texas State Convention planning committee for  College/University & YWTF and AAUW National Committee of Inclusion & Equity.  Most recently she was selected as a 2018 Fellow for the National Leader Council (NLC), San Antonio  Chapter.

As a member of the Board of Directors for the Martinez Street Women’s Center and Leadership SAISD, Class of 2018, Shenée is committed to community and service which has allowed her to serve on local, state, regional and national boards.

She holds a M.A. in Women Studies from Southern Connecticut State University, M.A. in Human Resources Management/Non Profit Management from Rollins College and B.A. in Women’s Studies & Leadership Studies from the University of Richmond.
